The international standard “ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems – Requirements for any organization involved in the worldwide food chain supply ” Outlines and defines the standardized requirements for planning and implementing a food safety management system in any company involved in the agro-food and food manufacturing industries.
The standards harmonize with international voluntary standards congruent with the various national contexts coordinated for the development and management of food safety, through the HACCP methodology.
These standards confirm the validity of the Codex Alimentarius’ principles the basis of the HACCP system, thus creating a linking element between the systems of quality management implemented in accordance with ISO 9001, and the industry self-control systems developed under D. Decree 155/97 and in accord with the current EU regulation Reg 852/04, enforced since 1 January 2006.
